Our History

Dominion Financial Management, Inc. was founded in April of 1999 in Raleigh, North Carolina and relocated in October of 1999 to Middle Tennessee.  Founded as a Christian Ministry, our desire is to teach personal finances ensuring that families have strong personal budgets, understand their credit and learn to reduce or eliminate their debt.  At that time, those who came to us for counseling seemed most interested in purchasing homes.  Due to the amount of growth in Rutherford County, we found our offices busy with first-time homebuyers purchasing homes and qualifying for special programs to assist them with their down payments and closing costs.  Throughout this time, we focused on our core areas regarding budgeting, credit and debt.  During those years, we helped over 300 families purchase their first home.

Our mission is to impact personal finances through financial and housing counseling, housing redevelopment and workforce development services.

Our mission is to impact personal finances through financial and housing counseling, housing redevelopment and workforce development services. In an effort to work in other areas that impact personal finances, we expanded our mission to impact personal finances through financial and housing counseling, housing redevelopment and workforce development services.  We are working on our first rehab project in Rutherford County.  Our property located in Murfreesboro, Tennessee is being renovated by adding a bathroom so that the two bedroom, one bath home, now has two full baths.

As the housing and financial markets experienced challenges, families found it more challenging to qualify for home mortgages.  This allowed an opportunity for us to help families overcome the obstacles to homeownership.  Again, the same areas of budgeting, credit and debt were stressed to help families work to qualify for home financing.  Our counseling services included many clients who entered long-term counseling to work to accomplish their goals.  These times also brought us the opportunity to provide foreclosure prevention counseling to assist families in understanding their options when facing mortgage delinquency.  We have expanded our staff to include four counselors, two program support staff and two part-time seasonal staff members.  We marked our tenth anniversary by expanding our offices to better serve the community.  We stand together striving in the spirit of excellence desiring to serve our clients to the best of our ability for years to come.
