Individual Counseling

Our HUD Certified Housing Counseling program provides housing counseling and education to families who want to improve their housing situation.  During a free, individual counseling session, we can help you prepare to:

·         Purchase a home

·         Rent a house or apartment

·         Maintain your finances

·         Avoid homelessness

·         Address mortgage delinquency.

You will meet with a counselor for a free confidential session where you will develop an action plan to accomplish your housing goal.  You will continue to meet monthly or as needed with your counselor until you accomplish your goal.

Group Education

Our certified homebuyer education program has helped over 300 families realize the dream of homeownership.  There is a class that is right for you:    
  • Orientation - Group sessions to review the basic path to homeownership. 
  • Front Door - Free individual session sponsored by The Housing Fund.  Meet with a counselor to develop an action plan to guide you to owning your own home. 
  • Fast Track - Classes meet requirements for programs designed to assist first-time homebuyers.  Realizing the American Dream curriculum is used.
  • AfterCare - Follow up after training to monitor your progress including maintaining your home, finances and credit.  How to avoid predatory lending and refinancing traps are reviewed.
